Canon FL lenses

The FL mount preceeded the FD mount. It is simpler, lacking the levers to allow wide open metering. It was introduced in 1964 and was the state of the art until 1977 when the FL mount came along.

The mount is mechanically identical, it has the same registration distance and the same breech lock mount with a silver ring.

As for flare with fast lenses, one guy says:
