There are of course, methods for drawing crystals using specific projections using a T-square and triangles -- and I did this one day long ago.

These days a person would be more likely to use sofware. As I remember, a clinographic projection was used.

Shape (written by Eric Dowty) is recommended, but costs $280, which is more than I care to pay.
