I first began working with Windows XP and Visual Studio 2005. That computer and Windows install is long gone. I am now running Windows 10, primarily to run Lightroom.
I am an old time Linux user and develop software on the Linux environment. I thought it would be nice to have the ability to develop software to run on Windows, primarily to share certain things with friends who only run Windows. However, the effort to climb the windows learning curve has simply never been worth it to me. Docker, along with WSL could offer ways to do what I want that don't involve diving into the whole Windows ecosystem.
