Printers
I have long done my best to avoid the care and feeding of a printer,
leaving that nasty business to somebody else and simply using a
shared printer "at the office". But in early 2018 I decided to
start running my own printer at home,
hence these notes.
I used an HP LaserJet 4, an ancient and venerable printer,
for about 2 years, with various degrees of satisfaction.
But by the end of 2019, it had stopped producing decent output.
A new toner cartridge seemed to solve the problem, but the
printer soon backslid and again yielded streaky and pale output.
A new laser printer for 2020
I am surprised that affordable black and white laser printers are
available and in production.

My friend Joe uses an HP2100.
This is another ancient printer, like the LaserJet 4, but not as ancient.
It is a 1200 dpi printer.
